Philip Gray, second year Finance student at the University of Nottingham, recently finished his 8 week placement with Open Projects, arranged by the Shell Technology and Enterprise Programme (STEP). He was awarded the Second Most Enterprising Student award for the Nottinghamshire area, and will proceed to the regional finals in September.

Whilst working at Open Projects he spent most of his time increasing Open Projects’ profile in the UK and abroad. His project included creating an export opportunities database, organising targeted direct mail and creating marketing and advertising tools for the company.

"I thoroughly enjoyed working at Open Projects. The responsibility I was given there allowed me to undertake a very real work project with a genuine opportunity to make a difference to the company. I would recommend the STEP scheme to all undergraduates as an excellent opportunity to gain real experience and improve your CV."
